TWO REASONS WHY CHLORINE TABLETS IN THE SKIMMER  BASKET CAUSE BIG POOL PROBLEMS!!!! 1.   The high chemical content of the tablet will eat through your plastic skimmer basket which will cause the basket to crack and break.  This will allow debris to get past the basket and on into plug the pump and motor. 2.  The high chemical content in the water goes directly into the the heater and will carode  the heat exchanger which will cause a catastrophic failure in the heater.
